About the Author

Hi, I’m Jamy. I live in Seattle with my husband, Stew and our big, cuddly cat Monster in a 1968 Airstream trailer. When I’m not in the city cooking, baking or gardening I’m out in the mountains either walking or riding my bike. Stew and I strive to live a life full of adventure and less full of things. These choices lead us to our current tiny living and also to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019. I believe that both living simply and spending time in wild spaces have the power to focus a person’s priorities and keep their mind open.

The Nest
In 2016 we bought a 1968 Airstream, Tradewind; an old, gutted trailer that stole our hearts. We spent two years renovating it from the ground up, culminating with it’s maiden voyage to our wedding location. Our little nest is stationary these days, and the coziest home we’ve ever enjoyed.

The Roam
Outdoor spaces were my sanctuary as a child so when I was introduced to backpacking at the age of 21 I fell hard. I was lucky to find a partner who shared that love with me in 2007 and we have been exploring Washington’s mountains ever since. In 2018 we decided to hike the Pacific Crest trail that following spring and had the adventure of a lifetime.
